Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

Repairs and maintains equipment in the production departments. Ensures that all department equipment functions properly to meet production requirements. Maintains equipment to meet SOP and cGMP specifications. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failure able to source problem and repair equipment. Proficient dismantling and reassembling equipment using appropriate tools to perform repairs.



  • Provide direction to operators for set-ups and changeover of all machines in accordance with schedule demands
  • Ensure that machines are properly maintained
  • Serve as primary troubleshooter for all equipment in the department
  • Perform required analysis of all electrical, electronic and mechanical components in the event of equipment failure
  • Establish and perform preventive maintenance on all equipment to ensure proper operation and minimal downtime
  • Perform set-ups as required
  • Train machine operators to perform set-ups
  • Advise supervisor of equipment performance, problems and status
  • Locate parts and supplies as required to complete repairs; submit order requests
  • Maintain proper documentation regarding equipment performance and maintenance
  • Direct outside contractors to perform repairs when required.
  • Follow department SOP’s and cGMP
  • Maintain proper documentation regarding equipment performance and maintenance
  • Perform other plant maintenance functions as required
  • Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company

Knowledge and Skills

  • High School Diploma and/or Technical School Certificate Knowledge of electronics plus 5 years’ related mechanic experience
  • Solid dose pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other applications as applicable, plus the ability to learn company used applications as required
