Title: Senior Chemist

Job Summary

Perform analytical testing on solid state doses of pharmaceutical products. Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures used within a Laboratory. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job.

 

Responsibilities

  • Testing pharmaceutical products using standard analytical methods such as assay, related substances and dissolution
  • Perform analysis utilizing Dissolution Apparatus I and II, FTIR, KF, TLC and HPLC
  • Maintain a neat and accurate notebook in accordance with FDA guidelines
  • Review and audit work of colleagues
  • Obtain comprehensive understanding of cGMP’s, GLP’s and use of USP methods in the Laboratory
  • Perform method transfer and analytical validations
  • Attend appropriate training seminars, courses and meetings
  • Serve on a Laboratory committee
  • Participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Bio-Chemistry or related scientific field
  • 4+ years’ experience as a Chemist or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Pharmaceutical experience is highly desired
  • Proficient in HPLC, UV and GC
  • Strong auditing skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Cooperative and flexible attitude
  • Ability to train others
  • Knowledge of general ICH guidelines and general USP Chapters
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business-related application packages such as Empower or similar software, plus the ability to learn company-used applications.
